Sabres Daily: Ex-Sabres Join Grier; Metro Puckdoku Cheatcodes

San Jose Sharks GM Mike Grier in his organizational additions has had a decidedly Buffalo feel, as the club announced the hiring of former Sabres Ryan Miller and Thomas Vanek to their scouting staff. Miller (who played nearly 800 NHL games for Buffalo, St. Louis, Vancouver, and Anaheim) was hired as a goalie scout and to the Sharks goaltending development department, while Vanek (who played over 1000 games with eight teams) was hired as an amateur scout in the Minnesota area.

Grier was teammates with both Miller and Vanek in 2006 and during his second stint with the Sabres from 2009 to 2011.
