Sabres Daily: Zegras, Ducks Remain Far Apart; Schneider Retires

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports that the Anaheim Ducks and center Trevor Zegras are far apart on a new contract. The Ducks reportedly offered Zegras between $3-$4 million per season on a three-year deal, while Zegras’ camp is looking for a higher amount on a bridge deal.

Goaltender Cory Schneider announced his retirement on Tuesday. The 37-year-old Schneider was a first-round pick of Vancouver in 2004 and played five seasons as the backup to Roberto Luongo before being dealt to New Jersey in 2013. He played seven seasons for the Devils and finished his NHL career with the NY Islanders. In 410 games, Schneider went 171-159-58, with a 2.43 GAA and .918 save percentage.
