Sabres Daily: Senators Looking To Shed Salary; Pre-Season Opens

The Ottawa Senators still have to get restricted free agent Shane Pinto signed, but they have less than $200,000 in cap space. The solution may be trading winger Mathieu Joseph, who they signed to a four-year, $11.8 million deal last year, but to do that, the Senators will likely have to include a high draft pick or prospect to get a team interested.

The Sabres open the preseason in Washington on Sunday afternoon, with very few expected regulars in the lineup. Jordan Greenway, Tyson Jost, Peyton Krebs, and JJ Peterka are in the lineup, with Eric Comrie and Dustin Tokarski likely splitting the goaltending duties. It is likely that you will see more regulars in the lineup when the Sabres play at home vs. Boston on Tuesday.
