The NHL is not planning on expanding from 32 teams in the near future, but according to TSN’s Darren Dreger, if the league considers it within the next five years, the price tag could be as much as $2 billion. The Ottawa Senators sale to billionaire Michael Andlauer this summer was reportedly for $950 million, while the expansion fee for the Seattle Kraken in 2021 was $650 million.
