Sabres Daily: Lowry Captain In Winnipeg; Parise Not Returning To Isles?

Published

on

The Winnipeg Jets became the second Western Canadian club to name a new team captain this week, as forward Adam Lowry will be wearing the C this season. The Jets captaincy remained vacant last season with Blake Wheeler still on the roster, but the veteran winger was bought out this summer. Lowry has been with the Jets since 2014 and is coming off a career-high 36-point campaign last season.

Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello indicated on Monday that veteran winger Zach Parise will not be reporting to training camp with the club next week. The 39-year-old forward scored 21 goals in his second season with New York after playing more than 1,000 games with the New Jersey Devils and Minnesota Wild over 18 seasons.
