Sabres Daily: MacLellan Promoted By Capitals; Leafs Add Benoit

The Washington Capitals have promoted GM Brian MacLellan, adding the additional title of President of hockey operations to his resume. The former NHLer has been GM in Washington since 2014 and a member of the Capitals organization since 2000.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have added some size to their blueline, signing 24-year-old defenseman Simon Benoit to a one-year, $775,000 contract. Benoit played 137 games over three seasons with the Anaheim Ducks and had 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists) in 78 games last season.
