Sabres Daily: McDavid Looking At Future; HockeyFest 2023

With Auston Matthews signing a long-term deal and becoming the highest-paid player in the NHL and Nathan MacKinnon signed for another seven seasons, the next superstar to potentially hit the open market is Connor McDavid after the 2025-26 season. Although the Hart Trophy winner indicated to Sportsnet’s Mark Spector that he loves playing in Edmonton, he did not slam the door on the potential of playing elsewhere.

“There are a lot of things that check the boxes for us in Edmonton. We’re super comfortable there,” McDavid said. “But with that all being said, it’s three years down the road. We’ve got to kind of see where our lives are at and kind of go from there.

The Sabres have announced the 2023 HockeyFest Tournament, which will take place on September 16th at KeyBank Center. Games will be played at the surface lot on the corner of Perry St. and Baltimore St. and will feature street hockey for divisions of all ages and genders.
