Sabres Daily: College Free Agent Day; Leafs’ Amirov Passes Away

The deadline for college players whose signing rights are expiring is on Tuesday at 5pm. There are a number of players that could garner interest on the open market as unrestricted free agents, including Philadelphia Flyers 2018 first-round pick Jay O’Brien (who played three seasons at Boston University), Arizona Coyotes 2019 third-rounder John Farinacci (who played three years at Harvard), and Carolina Hurricanes sixth-rounder Kevin Wall. Wall played four years at Penn State and scored 17 goals for the Nittany Lions as a senior. There is some speculation that the Fairport, NY native could be on the Buffalo Sabres radar.

Rodion Amirov lost his nearly two-year battle with cancer on Monday, as agent Daniel Milstein revealed that the Toronto Maple Leafs 2020 first-round pick had passed away at the age of 21.
