Buffalo Sabres prospect Jiri Kulich could make his NHL debut in October with a good performance at training camp next month. After being selected late in the first round in 2022, scoring seven goals for Czechia in the 2023 IIHF World Junior, scoring 24 goals in the AHL with Rochester and leading the Amerks to the final four in the Calder Cup Playoffs, the 19-year-old Kulich was ranked by the Athletic as one of the five best players not currently in the NHL.

Kulich was included on a list with Washington Capitals prospect Hardy Haman Aktell, 2022 second overall pick Simon Nemec of the New Jersey Devils, Russian defenseman Alexander Nikishin (Carolina), and Chicago Blackhawks draftee Ilya Safonov were also on the list, all of who are expected to play in the NHL next season.
