Sabres Daily: Ostlund, Wahlberg At WJC Showcase; Clifton A Fit

Published

on

Two Buffalo Sabres prospects will be playing in the 2024 World Junior Summer Showcase in Plymouth, Michigan later this month, a three-team tournament prepping youngsters from Sweden, Finland, and the United States for the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden this December.

Sabres 2022 first-rounder Noah Ostlund and 2023 second-rounder Anton Wahlberg are part of Sweden’s 25-man roster. Ostlund, 19, had four points (1 goal, 3 assists) in the 2023 World Junior in Edmonton last December and split time in the Swedish Hockey League and the Junior level with Djurgardens last season. Instead of coming over to play in the American Hockey League next season, Ostlund has been loaned to the SHL’s Vaxjo Lakers.

Wahlberg, 18, played for the Malmo Warhawks at two levels last season and scored six points (3 goals, 3 assists) in seven games at the U-18s.
