Sabres Daily: Are The Bruins Trading Ullmark?; Cecconi Signed
On the inaugural broadcast of The National Hockey Now podcast, BHN’s Jimmy Murphy expounded on chatter posted on Twitter by ESPN’s John Buccigross that a big move involving the Boston Bruins may be going down in the next week and that it may involve former Buffalo Sabres goalie and likely Vezina Trophy winner Linus Ullmark.
Ullmark, who had a ridiculous 40-6-1 record, 1.89 GAA and .938 save percentage last season, has two years remaining on a four-year, $20 million contract signed in 2021. GM Don Sweeney may be considering moving the 29-year-old at his highest value with tandem mate Jeremy Swayman a restricted free agent and with Boston right up against the salary cap.

The Buffalo Sabres took care of some organizational depth on Friday with the signing of AHL veteran Joseph Cecconi to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 at the NHL level and $325,000 at the minor league level.

The 26-year-old was acquired by Buffalo last December from the Dallas Stars for defenseman Oskari Laaksonen. The University of Michigan alum had eight points (3 goals, 5 assists) in 41 regular season games and five points (2 goals, 3 assists) in 14 playoff games for the Rochester Americans last season.
