The 19-year-old Kulich was selected 28th overall at the 2022 NHL Draft in Montreal last July with a first-rounder acquired from Florida in the Sam Reinhart deal. Kulich scored 24 goals in his first season in North America and scored seven goals in the Americans’ playoff run to the Calder Cup Conference Final. Other prospects named to the squad were Minnesota Wild goalie Jesper Wallstedt, defensemen Simon Nemec and David Jiricek (drafted by New Jersey and Columbus second and sixth overall in 2022), and 21-year-old forwards Lukas Reichel of the Chicago Blackhawks and Tyson Foerster of the Philadelphia Flyers.

As we draw closer to this weekend’s NHL Draft Combine at the Harborcenter and the NHL Draft later this month in Nashville, the mock draft from the Sporting News has the Sabres selecting University of Connecticut forward Matthew Wood at #13.
The British Columbia native is big (6’4″, 193 lbs.) and had an excellent freshman season with the Huskies, with 34 points (11 goals, 23 assists) in 35 games and impressed for Canada at the Under-18’s with 13 points (seven goals, six assists) in seven games.
