Sabres Daily: Americans Stay Alive With Road Victory Over Bears

Published

on

The Rochester Americans may have been deflated after blowing a two-goal lead to Hershey in the final 10 minutes of regulation in Game 4 of the Calder Cup Eastern Conference Final, but they were able to regroup and stay alive with a 4-1 victory over the Bears on Wednesday.

Jiri Kulich scored his seventh goal of the postseason 4:43 into the first period to give Rochester a lead they would never relinquish. In the third, Lukas Rousek scored the game-winner and an empty-netter and Michael Mersch tallied on the power-play, the first goal on the man advantage the Americans have scored in the series.

Malcolm Subban made 32 saves for his eighth win of the postseason. Rochester returns home to Blue Cross Arena on Friday for Game 6 in hopes of forcing a deciding Game 7 in Hershey on Sunday.
