The Vegas Golden Knights clinched their second trip to the Stanley Cup Final in six seasons with a 6-0 win over the Dallas Stars in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final with the help of a former Buffalo Sabre, but not the one you would expect.

Jack Eichel has been a central figure in the Golden Knights Cup pursuit and leads the club in playoff scoring with 18 points, but ex-Sabre William Carrier tallied the game-winner 3:41 into the first period and assisted on Keegan Kolesar’s first-period goal.
Carrier split time between AHL Rochester and the Sabres, playing 41 NHL games in 2016-17 before being claimed in the expansion draft by Vegas in 2017, where he has played 333 games over the last six seasons and scored a career-high 16 goals last season.
