Sabres Daily: Worlds Day 4 Roundup, More Mock Drafts
It was an eventful Day #4 at the IIHF 2023 World Championships in Tampere, Finland and Riga, Latvia on Monday for Jack Quinn of the Buffalo Sabres.
The 2020 first-round pick scored the game-winner in the shootout for Team Canada in a 2-1 victory over Slovakia, keeping Canada unbeaten in the tournament. Quinn’s teammate Peyton Krebs went pointless in 16 minutes of ice time, and goalie Devon Levi did not play, as Samuel Montembeault made 23 saves for his second win.

More Mock Draft Speculation
In their most recent mock draft, the Athletic’s Corey Pronman predicts that the Sabres will select winger Zach Benson of the WHL’s Winnipeg Ice. A teammate of Buffalo 2022 first-rounder Matthew Savoie, Benson led the Ice with 98 points (36 goals, 62 assists). Pronman believes that Buffalo is likely looking for players with size, but that is not Benson at 5’9″, 163 lbs.
